STUDENT VISA (SUBCLASS 500)

Student visa is for international students who want to come to Australia to study a full-time course in a CRICOS registered institution. You can get a Student Visa if you want to study:

1. English Courses (General English, IELTS preparation, etc.)
2. Vocational Courses (Business, Marketing, Tourism, Sport & Fitness, Hospitalities, etc)
3. University Courses (Bachelor Degree, Master and PhD)

The student visa period depends on the duration of the course you choose. For examle:

• if you enrol in a 6-month course, your Student Visa will be valid for around 6 months
• if you enrol for a 3-year program, your Student Visa will be valid for around 3 years

The course you choose must be at least 12-week long and your visa will be granted with the following additional times after the course completion:

• For courses of less than 10 months duration, you will be given 1 month extra.
• For courses of at least 10 months duration and finishing in January to October, you will be given 2 months extra.
• For courses of at least 10 months duration and finishing in November or December, the visa will be granted until 15 March of the following year so that you can attend your graduation.

You can renew your Student visa as many times as you want, as long as you are enrolled in a CRICOS registered course. Please be advised that if you've had multiple student visas in the past, you must have solid evidence that you are a genuine student in spite of a series of Student visas.
